DAK condoles demise of Dr Shareefa Rasool.

A condolence meeting of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) was held today at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar to mourn the sad demise of a noted oncologist Dr Shareefa Rasool who breathed her last yesterday at SKIMS.

 

Expressing profound grief over the death, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in the meeting prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

A medical luminary, Dr Shareefa graduated from GMC Srinagar and after completing her post-graduation in Radiotherapy at SKIMS  joined as a faculty member at this prestigious health institution. She worked abroad for some time and was presently working as a senior consultant in radiation oncology of GMC Srinagar.

Paying rich tributes to the deceased, Dr Nisar said the demise has created a great void in the field of oncology.

Calling the death as an irreparable loss, DAK President said it is a great loss to the medical fraternity.ÔÇ£She was a personification of an ideal doctor; wise, compassionate, kind and above all honest,ÔÇØ he said.

Dr Nisar said she was instrumental in shaping the Department of Radiation Oncology at GMC. Her contributions to the field of oncology will be remembered for all times to come.

ÔÇ£She was empathetic towards her patients because of which she had attained great respect from her patients. She was a humble soul who always stood a helping hand to the needy and poor. She will be missed for goodness in life,ÔÇØ said Dr Nisar.
